Beastars is the show i always name when people ask "what show did you think would be shit, but you watched it anyway and liked it?" i almost didn't pick it up because the animal characters were a turn off, but i gave it a chance and it turned out to be my aots. Something about the beastars art style strikes a cord with me. keeping the scaling of animals is somewhat unique (i can think of only one disney movie that did this as well. edit: two actually. i somehow forgot that zootopia existed) and the fact that that artistic choice actually plays into major plot themes also works very well.
